Set up & use Android Pay?

Set Up
  • Download the Android Pay app free from the Google Play Store.
  • Open the Android Pay app and tap the ‘+’ sign to add a card.
  • Use your phone camera to capture your card's information or enter it manually.
  • Follow the prompts to complete the details and tap ‘Save’ to confirm that you agree to the Google Terms and Conditions.
  • Read and confirm that you agree to the Latitude card with Android Pay Terms and Conditions.
  • For security purposes we may ask you to call us or send you a verification code via SMS.
Use
  • Wake your Android device.
  • Hold your phone close to the payment terminal to pay and away you go.
  • If your transactions is over $100 you may be prompted to input your card PIN.

Adding my card in Android Pay

  • How do I set up Android Pay™?

    If you don’t already have the Android Pay app on your device, you can download it from the Google Play Store.

    To set up Android Pay you will need to have a screen lock on your phone which can be a PIN, password, pattern or fingerprint and be signed into a Gmail account. You will be prompted to set it up when adding your first card to Android Pay if you haven’t already done so.

    You will also need an internet connection to set up Android Pay.

    Check your mobile number. When you add a card to Android Pay, for security purposes we may send you an SMS to complete the process. Check the mobile number we have is up to date so you can receive it.

    To check and/or update your mobile number:

    Now add your card to Android Pay:

    1. Download the Android Pay app free from the Google Play Store.
    2. Open the Android Pay app and tap the ‘+’ sign to add a card.
    3. Use your phone camera to capture your card's information or enter it manually.
    4. Enter your card’s expiry and security code followed by your billing address and mobile number. Then tap ‘Save’ to confirm that you agree to the Google Terms and Conditions.
    5. Read and confirm that you agree to the Latitude card with Android Pay Terms and Conditions.
    6. For security purposes we may ask you to call us or send you a verification code via SMS.

    Note: In order to make payments with Android Pay ensure it is set as your default “tap and pay” app. Also, do not add your card to someone else’s device as they can then use your card to pay.

    When adding your Card to Android Pay, you will also be adding your Card to Google Payments. This allows you to use your Card to make purchases in places like the Google Play Store and online with Google.   • What is Android Pay?

    Android Pay is a mobile payment and digital wallet service that lets users make payments using compatible Android devices to securely pay with your card -in stores and in apps.

  • Which devices can I use Android Pay with?

    Android Pay is currently available for Android devices running 4.4 (KitKat) or higher with a Near Field Communication (NFC) antenna and Host Card Emulation (HCE) support. To check your Android version, visit the Google Play Store.

  • Can I add more than one card to Android Pay?

    Yes, you can add as many cards as you like to Android Pay.

    There is no additional fee for using Android Pay.

How to use Android Pay

  • Where can I use Android Pay?

    You can use Android Pay with an eligible card wherever you use your plastic card to make contactless payments.

    You can also use Android Pay within apps when you see the Buy with Android Pay button or Android Pay as a payment method.

  • How do I pay in store using my Android Device?

    To make a purchase in store, simply wake your phone, hold it up to the contactless terminal and you’re done. No need to open the app. Always check the terminal to confirm your payment is successful.

    Depending on the value and number of consecutive transactions, you may need to unlock your phone at the contactless payment terminal to make a transaction.

    Note: Do not share your Android Device Unlock PIN, password, pattern or let anyone else, including family members, have their fingerprint registered to your device while your card is registered in Android Pay. Ensure your device is attended at all times.

  • Do I ever need to use a PIN for Android Pay?

    You may be required to enter your card PIN on the terminal in store for transactions over $100.

  • How do I pay within apps using Android Pay?

    Look for the ‘Buy with Android Pay’ icon during checkout. Simply tap the icon to review your payment information and contact details are correct. You may be prompted to unlock the device to authorise the payment.

    Note: Do not share your Android Device Unlock PIN, password, pattern or let anyone else, including family members, have their fingerprint registered to your device while your card is registered in Android Pay. Ensure your device is attended at all times.

  • Do I need an internet connection to use Android Pay to make purchases?

    An active internet connection may be required to make in-store purchases.

    There is a limited number of transactions permitted during a period without internet access after which your device will need an internet connection to make additional authorisations. You will also need an active internet connection to activate the app or add a new Card.

  • Will Android Pay work overseas?

    Yes. Android Pay will work while you are overseas and wherever contactless payments are accepted.

    It is recommended that you have an alternative plastic card with you as a backup when travelling overseas so you don’t get caught out.

  • Can I use Android Pay at contactless enabled ATM’s?

    No, Android Pay does not currently work at contactless enabled ATM’s.

  • How do I return an item purchased with Android Pay in store?

    If you need to return a purchase made with Android Pay, you may be asked to provide the last four digits of your Device Account number. This is different to your card number. To find them, select “Card details” or “transaction details”. ​

    Or you can select the card you used to make the purchase in Android Pay and hold your phone up to the contactless terminal.

Managing my card in Android Pay

  • Can I view transactions in Android Pay?

    You are able to view the last 10 transactions made with your device in Android Pay by selecting the appropriate card in the Wallet on your device.

    A full list of transactions made with your card log can be viewed in the Online Service Centre.

  • How do I make my card my default card for Android Pay transactions?

    In store:

    The first card you add to Android Pay will automatically become your default card that is used to pay. To change your default card for Android Pay:

    • open the Android Pay app
    • tap and drag the card you wish to be default to the “Default Card” spot at the top of the app’s Home screen.

    In apps:

    When making a purchase in apps, the default card for Android Pay will be presented to make an in app payment. If you are making a repeat in app purchase it will automatically select the last card you used to make an in-app payment.

    You can easily choose another card that is registered in Android Pay to make a payment.

  • Can I add my card to Android Pay on multiple devices?

    Yes. You can add your card to Android Pay on a maximum of 5* different Android compatible devices.

    (*Unless you have added your card onto other mobile wallets such as Apple Pay or Android Pay)

  • How do I remove a card?

    You can remove your card by tapping your card in the Android Pay app and selecting "Remove Card" by scrolling to the bottom of the screen. 

    Note: It may be possible to make transactions using Android Pay with your Android Device after deleting or uninstalling the Android Pay app on your Android device. As a result, if you no longer wish to use a card with Android Pay, you should remove the card from Android Pay prior to deleting or uninstalling the Android Pay app on your Android device. If you remove your Android Device Unlock PIN, password, pattern or fingerprint all credit and debit cards will be removed from your device.

  • I am a primary credit cardholder. Can I block an additional cardholder from using Android Pay?

    You can request for an additional card to be stopped by calling us which will prevent it being used for all transactions, including those through Android Pay. Visit our Contact Us page.

    Note: Ensure any additional cardholders do not share their passcode or let anyone else, including family members, have their fingerprint registered to their device while their card is registered in Android Pay as you will then be liable for transactions that are authorised in this way.

  • If I receive a reissued card, do I need to update my card information with Android Pay again?

    If your card has expired, and you activate your reissued card, you don’t need to do anything. Your new card details will automatically be updated in Android Pay.

  • Can I still use Android Pay if I report my card as lost or stolen?

    No.

    When you tell us that your plastic card has been lost or stolen, we will cancel your card. This will automatically cancel the corresponding device account number in Android Pay. Once you receive and activate your new card, you will need to add the new card to Android Pay.

Security

  • Is Android Pay secure?

    Yes. When you use your phone to pay in stores, Android Pay doesn’t send your actual credit or debit card number with your payment. Instead they use a virtual account number to represent your account info – so your card details stay safe and secure.

    For additional security, if your phone is ever lost or stolen, you can use Android Device Manager to instantly lock it from anywhere, secure it with a new password, or wipe it clean of personal data.

    Remember to never share your passcode or let anyone else, including family members, have their fingerprint registered to your device while your card is registered in Android Pay.

  • What happens if my Android Device is lost or stolen?

    If your phone is lost or stolen, you can easily find or erase your phone using Android Device Manager.

    If you purchase a new phone then you will need to add your cards to Android Pay.
