As well as looking at how to score some great hotel deals, we’ll talk about some famous landmarks that will give your stay that extra something special.
Statue of Liberty
After a day of shopping 'til you dropped, checking out the latest show or appreciating the stunning architecture, New York visitors can spend some downtime appreciating the stunning Statue of Liberty. A gift from France to the United States as a token of friendship, this colossal statue is now famous around the world with over three million people visiting it each year.
Due to its location, there are many hotels throughout New York City that can offer views of this famous landmark.
Eiffel Tower
Wake from a blissful sleep and enjoy a croissant and tea while gazing at the splendour that is the Eiffel Tower. The symbol of not only Paris, but France, the Eiffel Tower receives more visitors than other famous landmarks with almost seven million visitors each year! Since its creation by Gustave Eiffel in 1889, it has undergone many restorations and renovations to ensure it still captivates the world to this day.
Stunning during the day and a lit up spectacle at night, you will not get tired of gazing at it from your luxury hotel suite while sipping wine. Standing at 324m tall, you can catch a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower from many hotels around the city; the higher up you are, the better!
Big Ben
Never be late for your next guided tour or social catch up in London, get a luxury hotel room with views of the famous Big Ben. It certainly lives up to its name; Big Ben measures over 96 metres tall and each dial of the clock is seven metres in diameter. Stunning in the daytime, it is even more special at night when the clock faces are lit up for the world to see.
Hollywood Sign
Welcome to Hollywood! If you love getting out and about in nature, you’re going to love this landmark even more. As well as great views of the sign, you can actually get up close and personal with many trails leading up to it through Griffith Park. From there, you’ll experience some stunning views that are well worth the walk or jog.
Sydney Opera House
It all started in 1956 with the Opera House international design competition. Over 200 designs were submitted but it was Jørn Utzon from Denmark who was announced the winner. It took 14 years to complete the famous landmark that is visited by millions of people from around the world today. Located near another famous structure, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, you’ll have plenty to gaze at from your room at night or outside during the day.
Burj Al Arab Hotel
The Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai was once the tallest hotel in the world, standing over 320 metres. As the only skyscraper that is built on an artificial island, already you can tell this is a special structure. If you’re not one of the lucky travellers who have the opportunity to stay in the luxury hotel (prices are quite steep), then you might as well get a great view of it. The architecture is stunning and it means you’ll also have great views of the water too.
Times Square

If you want to have a New York adventure in the thick of it all, then you’re going to want to visit Times Square. There are plenty of seasonal events to enjoy as well as entertainment, such as Broadway and live music – you’ll never run out of things to do.
How you can land the best hotel deals
Okay, so now you know where you want to go and the famous landmarks you want to see. How are you going to get the best hotel deals for you? There are few things you should consider in order to get the right room at the right price.
Set yourself a budget
You should have an idea of the amount of money you are planning to spend on this trip. With a budget you don’t have to allocate every dollar, but you will need a ballpark of how much you want to spend. Not sure how much it will cost to get the amount of luxury you want? We’ve written an article on what $1000 a month gets you in accommodation around the world.
Save money where you can
If getting that perfect hotel room is important to you, then you’re going to need to save money elsewhere in order to keep within budget. This could be as simple as packing your own lunches, waiting for the off-peak period to travel, or getting a Latitude 28° Global Platinum Mastercard with no foreign transaction or international currency conversion fees. Anything you save elsewhere just improves your chances of getting your dream accommodation.
Shop around
Don’t assume you are going to find the best price for a hotel on the official hotel website. There are many comparison websites out there such as Trivago, Hotels Combined and Wotif that will do all of the hard work for you and compare all of the prices available. As mentioned before, if your holiday is flexible, travelling during off-peak periods may help you get the room you want for cheaper.
If you’re looking for a complete package, your travel agent may have hotel deals that are combined with flights to make planning even easier. Good luck and enjoy those views!
