Latitude Pledges $250,000 To Bushfire Disaster Relief

8 January 2020

Latitude Financial today pledged $250,000 to support communities impacted by Australia’s bushfires and the thousands of volunteer firefighters risking their lives.

The financial support will go to organisations critical to the firefighting and community relief efforts, as well as those dealing with the impact on Australian wildlife.

Latitude Managing Director and CEO Ahmed Fahour said: “We have all been deeply touched by the impact these unprecedented fires have had on so many communities across Australia and the way so many people have rallied to help.

“This $250,000 pledge will recognise organisations providing critical support and assistance at the frontline, from the firefighters in NSW and Victoria to those assisting evacuees and emergency services personnel with food, water and shelter.

“For those Latitude customers impacted by this devastating event, we have established a dedicated bushfire hardship team to offer support and financial relief, including three-month payment moratoriums and reduced interest rates. We encourage any customer who is seeking assistance to contact us on 1300 858 151.”

Latitude is also matching dollar for dollar any donation made by its staff to a number of charities, including the Salvation Army, which has established a dedicated Disaster Appeal.

Staff providing volunteer support to bushfire affected communities, including those fighting the fires, will also be supported with 10 days of paid leave.
